Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tzvetvan Todorov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edward Forbes!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Todorov tries for a takedown but Forbes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Some wild striking there from Forbes.
Forbes misses with a wild combination.

Todorov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Forbes is trying to defend but Todorov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Todorov misses with a head shot. Forbes uses the momentum to regain guard.
Todorov throws an elbow that misses. Forbes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Todorov's guard. Nice move by Forbes!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Forbes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Todorov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Forbes on the ground.

Todorov wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Todorov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Forbes stands up from Todorov's guard - Forbes perhaps looking for a knockout.
Forbes throws a right and a left that Todorov avoids nicely.

Horrible takedown by Todorov or perhaps it was just good defense by Forbes which made him look bad.

Oooooh!!! Forbes has knocked Todorov down with a huge combo! Forbes steps away and waves a wobbly Todorov back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Todorov could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Forbes throws a combination that misses

and Todorov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Todorov prevents Forbes from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Forbes is looking to stand up but Todorov isn't so interested in that idea.

Todorov looking to sit in guard and control but Forbes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Forbes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

and Forbes counters with a three punch combo that has Todorov backing up. Todorov nods at Forbes to acknowledge the strikes.
Forbes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Forbes has closed the distance and engaged Todorov in a clinch.

Forbes wants the takedown. Todorov is fighting it off but Forbes persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Todorov's guard against the cage.

Forbes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Forbes decides to stand back up. Forbes steps back and let's Todorov get back to his feet.
Todorov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Forbes leaves Todorov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Forbes counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
