Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shelby Toe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toe has chosen Here Comes the Boom! as his entrance music. Ben Askren had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shelby Toe!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Toe gets the takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Askren is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Toe has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Toe tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Toe has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Askren takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Toe lands some shots froms side control.
Askren pushes Toe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Toe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Toe working the body and head with strikes.
Toe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Askren is working to avoid the ground and pound but Toe connects with a decent elbow.
Askren on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Askren throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Toe landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Askren is trying to get back to half guard.
Toe working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Askren is rocked!
Askren wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Oh Askren is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Askren is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Askren is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Askren on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Askren tries to get out of the position.
Askren manages to get back to half guard.
Toe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Askren with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Toe lands a big elbow - Askren is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Toe!
