And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bushido Brown!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Askren as he jumps to the side.
Danga de danga de dang - Brown scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like John Askren has been cut.
Brown scores with a jab.
Brown cracks Askren with a good jab.
Brown misses with a double jab.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Brown lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Askren has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Askren and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brown fails in his attempt to clinch.

Brown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Askren but Askren pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Brown moves in looking to clinch but Askren pushes him off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brown is defended easily by Askren.
John Askren has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bushido Brown.

Brown wants to clinch up but Askren keeps it at a distance.
Askren lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Brown misses with a hook.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Askren controls the position for a moment.
You can see the frustration on Askren's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Brown in side control lands a decent elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Askren tries to bench press Brown off him but Brown keeps the position.
Brown passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Askren!

Brown is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Brown has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Askren's face.
Askren tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Askren is squirming around, avoiding Brown's attempts to control the action.
Askren wants to control but Brown is having none of it.

Askren is looking to get to half guard.
Brown wants to control the pace but Askren is squirming around nicely.
Brown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Askren is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Brown lands a nice shot to the head.
Askren blocking the ground and pound.
Brown throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Askren is bucking up trying to escape but Brown cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Askren takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Brown's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
