Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mahmed Salidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JD Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hopkins comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Symptom of the Universe - by Sepultura kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Salidov's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hopkins is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Salidov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hopkins has eaten all the pies!

Hopkins closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hopkins lands in his opponent's guard.

Hopkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hopkins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Salidov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Salidov wants to stand but Hopkins is controlling the position.

Hopkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salidov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Mahmed Salidov just wasn't active enough.
Hopkins gets the takedown into side control.
Salidov is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hopkins scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Salidov to see if he's OK.
Hopkins takes a little break here. Salidov wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Salidov pushes Hopkins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hopkins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Salidov seems a little lost for a moment, as Hopkins dominates the positioning.
Salidov takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Salidov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hopkins is controlling him well.
Salidov is breathing heavily.
Salidov takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Salidov is pushing Hopkins's head away, looking to escape. Hopkins manages to hold on to the position though.
Hopkins in side control lands a decent elbow.
Salidov is rocked!
A big shot lands for Hopkins! That's hurt Salidov! Will he recover? Hopkins fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
