Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Rambo Kalervo Kukkonen! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Albert Fish! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fish waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kukkonen. Fish avoids the body shot from Kukkonen.
Fish throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Fish throws a shot from downtown. Kukkonen moves away and avoids it. Kukkonen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fish. Kukkonen looks to score with a jab to the body but Fish is just out of range. Kukkonen gets a double leg takedown into Fish's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Kukkonen throws a big elbow that misses. Kukkonen wants to control from the top but Fish keeps moving. Fish avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kukkonen wants to pass the guard but Fish is keeping the position. Kukkonen looking to sit in guard and control but Fish gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kukkonen keeping moving, preventing Fish from controlling successfully. Kukkonen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fish got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kukkonen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fish has managed to get both his arms back between Kukkonen's legs - danger averted. Kukkonen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fish is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kukkonen has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Fish should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kukkonen has tightened it up now! Fish should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
