Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yoshi Suzuki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, FearLess Undefeated! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suzuki shoots in for a takedown but Undefeated shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Undefeated takes the fight into the clinch. Undefeated is defending well against a takedown attempt. Undefeated gets underhooks to prevent Suzuki's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoshi Suzuki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suzuki is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Suzuki is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Undefeated can't fight it off and eventually Suzuki manages to take the fight to the floor. Undefeated looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Undefeated is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Suzuki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Undefeated is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Suzuki, into his guard. Suzuki is looking for a triangle but Undefeated pushes his legs off easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Undefeated trying to control but Suzuki is working from the bottom. Undefeated postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Undefeated would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suzuki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Suzuki looking for a guillotine here but Undefeated defends easily.
Suzuki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Undefeated gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Undefeated missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Suzuki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Undefeated throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suzuki is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Undefeated frees his head nicely. Oh but Suzuki has switched to an armbar! Undefeated is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
