Latham is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Frontier Psychiatrist - The Avalanches. Mark Latham will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meningitis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meningitis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Meningitis is pushing down on Latham's leg trying to pass to half guard. Latham is fighting to maintain full guard but Meningitis has managed to sneak the leg through.

Meningitis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Latham defends it well.

Latham wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Meningitis, who protects the arm well.

Latham is looking to take a break and control but Meningitis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Latham is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Meningitis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Latham.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Latham wants to free his trapped foot but Meningitis is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Meningitis shoots in for a double leg but Latham sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Tuberculo Meningitis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Latham has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Meningitis is working away from the top position though.

Meningitis seems to be working for a kimura but Latham defends the submission attempt.
Latham is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Meningitis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Meningitis's back!

Latham is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Meningitis is defending well though. Latham let's go of the attempt for now.

Latham has his foot on Meningitis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Meningitis works his way back into a safe position though.

Meningitis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Latham is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Meningitis, into his guard.

Meningitis is looking to sinch up a triangle. Latham throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Meningitis's body to avoid the submission. Meningitis has instead reached around Latham's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Meningitis arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
