Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dave Carpio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Young Il (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carpio's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Derezzed. Il has chosen RATM - Renegades of Funk as his entrance music. Dave Carpio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dave Carpio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Kim Young Il!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Il just misses with a punch to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Il.
Il fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Carpio checks it well.
Il looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Il thuds a left hand into Carpio's body.
Carpio scores with the left hand. Il knows he should have avoided that one.

Il shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carpio napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Il tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Carpio tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Il is stalling here. Carpio is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Il seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Carpio has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Il takes a swing at Carpio's ribcage but misses.

Il shoots in looking for a takedown. Carpio tries to sprawl out of it but Il keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carpio manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Il darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Carpio takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Il closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Carpio's guard.
Il lands a couple of digs.
Carpio is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Il passes Carpio's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Carpio is refusing to be controlled, as Il sits in half guard.
Il slips a nice elbow through Carpio's hands, connecting with Carpio's forehead.

That's time! Carpio's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Il pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Il lands a nice hook to Carpio's body. Carpio takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Carpio throws a low kick, looking for Il's leg but Il calmly moves out of range.

Carpio is looking for a sweep. Il is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kim Young Il is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Carpio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kim Young Il comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Il has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
