Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sigurd Larsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafael Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sigurd Larsen!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fox misses with a kick to the body.
Fox goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Larsen has managed to clinch.
Larsen tries to pull guard but Fox won't allow it.
Larsen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Fox throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Larsen blocks it with crossed arms.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Fox.


It looks like Sigurd Larsen has been cut.
Fox is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Larsen is defending well for now.
Fox is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Larsen to keep the fight standing.

Larsen has picked Fox up - he's going for a ride! Larsen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Larsen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Fox has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Larsen is working away from the top position though.
Larsen is keen to just control but Fox is a slippery customer.

Larsen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Larsen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Larsen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Larsen blocks the body kick.
Larsen slips a straight right by Fox.

Fox gets tackled into the cage by Larsen. Larsen maintains the clinch.
Fox is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Larsen to keep the fight standing.

Larsen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Larsen trying to control the position but instead, Fox has worked for underhooks and has pushed Larsen into the cage.

Larsen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fox fakes the leg kick and cracks Larsen in the body.

Fox tries to keep at a distance but Larsen has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fox is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Larsen is defending well for now.
Fox tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Larsen avoids it.
Larsen tries to circle away but Fox has him pinned against the cage.
Fox tries to land a knee to the head but Larsen blocks with his arms.
Larsen wants to get back to striking at distance but Fox won't allow it.
Fox looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Fox is working for takedown but Larsen is calmly controlling the position for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fox throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Fox utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Larsen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fox gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sigurd Larsen will probably get the nod.

Fox misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Larsen.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fox is stalling here. Larsen is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Fox seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Larsen has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Fox has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fox tries to improve position but can't.
Larsen throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Fox can't do much from the bottom here.
Larsen passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Fox!

Fox tries to reverse the position but Larsen maintains control.
Fox is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Larsen misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Larsen wants to stand but Fox is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Fox is trying to stand.
Fox gets back to half guard.
Fox moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rafael Fox overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fox has Larsen pulled in close to control his posture.
Larsen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fox is keeping the position for now.
Fox wants to sweep but no luck.
Larsen wants to control from the top but Fox keeps moving.

Fox looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Fox is trying to control the position but Larsen postures up.
Fox wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Larsen misses with a takedown attempt - Fox sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Larsen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Fox misses with a body kick.
Sigurd Larsen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fox throws a sloppy head kick and Larsen moves out of range easily.

Fox fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Larsen manages to avoid it.

Larsen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fox throws out the jab.

Larsen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fox creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Larsen's defenses.
Fox misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Larsen.

Fox is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Larsen wants to control from the top but Fox keeps moving.
Fox is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fox holds on and takes a little breather.

We're going to have a standup here because Rafael Fox wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Fox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Larsen pinned against the cage. Larsen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Larsen clinches up with Fox and pushes him back against the cage.

Fox gets control of Larsen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fox will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Larsen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Larsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Fox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Fox is controlling Larsen's posture.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sigurd Larsen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Fox looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Rafael Fox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fox throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A bone on bone clash there as Larsen blocks the leg kick.
Larsen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Fox wants to clinch up but Larsen keeps it at a distance.
Larsen blocks the body kick.
Larsen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fox avoids it really well and circles away.
Rafael Fox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sigurd Larsen.
Larsen avoids the head kick by Fox.

Larsen moves into the clinch.

Fox decides to pull guard.
Larsen looking to sit in guard and control but Fox gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Fox with a flurry of punches that miss.
Fox postures up in Larsen's guard and throws a big left but Larsen blocks it.

Fox drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fox jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fox postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Larsen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fox, into his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rafael Fox showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fox has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
