Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fu Blue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mark Gomez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mark Gomez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Gomez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fu Blue! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomez throws a hook but Blue blocks it. Blue gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gomez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Blue momentarily.
Gomez is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Blue throws a head kick that misses. Blue rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gomez counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Blue on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gomez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Blue won't allow Gomez to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gomez is trying to work for a kimura but Blue is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blue scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Gomez manages to mount him!
Gomez controlling the pace for now. Gomez landing strikes from the mount and Blue is in trouble!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gomez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gomez tries to control but Blue wriggling away. Gomez controlling the position easily from mount. Gomez wants to take Blue's back but he can't do it this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gomez has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Blue is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mark Gomez! Mark Gomez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
