Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tamong Kodo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scot Sloan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tamong Kodo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Scot Sloan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tamong Kodo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scot Sloan! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloan tries to land a front kick but Kodo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Kodo misses with a wild body shot. Kodo avoids a kick to the body.
Sloan misses with an attempted mid kick.
A head kick misses from Sloan. Kodo throws a lazy right hand but Sloan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kodo blocks the body kick.
Sloan lands a nice looking body kick. Sloan darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Sloan lands with a kick to the ribs.
Kodo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Sloan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Sloan clinches with his opponent.

Kodo gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Scot Sloan has been cut. Kodo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sloan can't fight it off and eventually Kodo manages to take the fight to the floor. Sloan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Sloan is looking to stand up but Kodo isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kodo wants to control from the top but Sloan keeps moving. Kodo passes into half guard. Kodo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sloan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kodo is working away from the top position though. Kodo is trying to work for a kimura but Sloan is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sloan is staying active underneath Kodo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sloan. Kodo passes into half guard. Sloan wants to sweep but Kodo has passed to side control! Sloan wants to get back to his feet but Kodo drags him back down. Kodo tries to advance to mount but can't. Kodo is looking to take a break and control but Sloan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kodo is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Sloan looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kodo gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Sloan is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kodo lets go of the hold and Sloan can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tamong Kodo! After the fight, Tamong Kodo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
