Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Dickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Slewton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dickson's entrance music is Till I Collapse. A fine choice. Carlos Slewton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gabriel Dickson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gabriel Dickson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Slewton! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Dickson misses. Slewton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Slewton missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Slewton passes to side control. Dickson is not content to let Slewton control the position. An elbow from Slewton crashes against the mat.
You can see the frustration on Dickson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slewton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dickson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Slewton wants to control for a moment but Dickson uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Dickson tries to pass to full mount but Slewton defends it. Slewton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dickson stalling.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Slewton slips a jab and a cross from Dickson.
Slewton blocks a head kick by Dickson.
Dickson lands a really nice looking cross but Slewton seems unphased.
Dickson shoots and misses and Slewton counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Slewton throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dickson won't allow Slewton to pass to mount. Slewton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Slewton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dickson gets full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slewton wants to control from the top but Dickson keeps moving. Slewton wants to stand but Dickson is controlling his posture from full guard. Slewton postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dickson wants to clinch and Slewton counters with a nice double leg into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slewton throwing strikes but missing. Dickson keeping moving, preventing Slewton from controlling successfully. Slewton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Dickson has control of Slewton's left arm, preventing Slewton from doing any damage. Slewton trying to control the position from guard on top but Dickson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Slewton dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Dickson loads up on a big right hand but Slewton slips the punch. Dickson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A slapping leg kick lands for Slewton.
Nice combo by Dickson! Oh, that's hurt him - Slewton falls to the canvas and Dickson follows him into side control.
Slewton is rocked!
It looks like Carlos Slewton has been cut. Slewton tries to buck Dickson off but Dickson is having none of it. Slewton is still in real trouble! Can Dickson finish him? Slewton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Dickson wants to stand but Slewton has his arm trapped. Slewton is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Dickson is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Slewton seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dickson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Slewton is looking to escape. Dickson content just to control the position here. Slewton regains half guard. Dickson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Slewton keeps working. Slewton is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Dickson pulls his head out easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dickson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Slewton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dickson is working away from the top position though. Slewton preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Slewton trying to control but Dickson postures up.
Dickson wants to pass to mount but Slewton is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dickson is just content to waste time from the top position. Slewton takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A big right from Dickson misses. Slewton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dickson circles away. Slewton moves away from the strike by Dickson. Dickson throws the left hand but Slewton avoids the punch easily. Dickson throws a jab when Slewton was well out of range. Slewton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dickson.
Slewton misses with a head kick.
Dickson throws a lazy right hand but Slewton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dickson misses with an uppercut. Slewton saw that one coming. Dickson misses with a straight right. Dickson lands with a nice combination. Slewton backs away looking to recover. Slewton looks for a takedown but Dickson sprawls well. Dickson misses with a looping left. Dickson misses the jab. Dickson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Dickson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Slewton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dickson's guard. Slewton with a flurry of punches that miss. Slewton thows a big elbow that misses. Slewton trying to control but Dickson is working from the bottom. Slewton is breathing heavily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gabriel Dickson dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Carlos Slewton's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Slewton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Dickson misses with a low kick as Slewton jumps back. Dickson looks to score with a jab to the body but Slewton is just out of range. Slewton dodges the punch combination from Dickson.
Dickson lands with a nice body punch. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Dickson!
Dickson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slewton moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dickson falls off balance throwing a combination
so Slewton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Slewton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dickson, up you get! Slewton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A punch combination from Dickson misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. A good leg kick by Slewton. A nice combination there by Slewton.
Slewton walks into a jab. Dickson tries to bum rush Slewton with a series of wild strikes but Slewton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Slewton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dickson tries to avoid it but Slewton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dickson to the ground. Dickson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dickson missing with a left hand there. Slewton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dickson throws a left that rocks Slewton and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Dickson dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Slewton regain composure!
A lull in the action here. Dickson is looking to take a break and control but Slewton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dickson tries to advance to mount but Slewton denies him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dickson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Slewton is not content to let Dickson control the position. Dickson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Slewton, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slewton is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Slewton trying his best to control but Dickson has mounted him. Dickson controlling the pace for now. Carlos Slewton has got the better of the ground game so far. Slewton is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dickson working away from the top, dropping strikes. Dickson looking to control and managing it successfully. Dickson tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Dickson trying to control but Slewton is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Gabriel Dickson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Dickson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
