Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phil Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braddock Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Braddock Spong! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spong has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Taylor. Sloppy strikes from Taylor. Those never looked like landing. Spong moves out of range of the body kick from Taylor.
Taylor wants to clinch. Taylor misses with a jab, cross combination.
Taylor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Taylor closes the distance and pushes Spong back into the cage. Taylor manages to break the clinch.
Spong throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Spong is in Taylor's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Spong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taylor swivels though and keeps the full guard. Spong passes Taylor's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Spong is looking for a kimura but Taylor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Spong to get the leverage. Spong looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Taylor is trying to maintain the position but Spong is very close to passing his half guard. Spong looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Spong wants to work for an arm triangle but Taylor is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Spong in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Taylor tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Spong!
