Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan McNeil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan McNeil is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan McNeil! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jackson tries to bum rush McNeil with a series of wild strikes but McNeil uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jackson tests McNeil's chin there with a solid looking shot. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jackson, as that shot connected.
Jackson misses with the combination.
Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. McNeil lands a front kick. McNeil wants to clinch. McNeil keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mark Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson slow jab from McNeil misses its intended target. Jackson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Nice sprawl there from McNeil as Jackson shoots in. McNeil stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Jackson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Jackson thows a left - swing and a miss! Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. McNeil tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McNeil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jackson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McNeil has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McNeil and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. No luck for McNeil with that takedown attempt. McNeil on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Jackson misses with a looping right. Jackson thows a left - swing and a miss! Jackson with a hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt and McNeil counters with a head kick. That will keep Jackson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! McNeil looks gassed! Jackson missing with a left hand there. McNeil was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. McNeil takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jackson tries for a takedown but McNeil circles away easily and McNeil counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! McNeil content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Jackson works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McNeil's guard. Jackson postures up in McNeil's guard and throws a big left but McNeil blocks it. Jackson stops McNeil from standing up. McNeil is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jackson stopping the sweep attempt from McNeil. McNeil is pulling down on Jackson's head. It's preventing any offense from Jackson, at least for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson trying to control but McNeil is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ryan McNeil will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Jackson throws a leg kick and McNeil makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Jackson scores with a nice strike. Jackson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McNeil.
Jackson takes a swing at McNeil's ribcage but misses. McNeil walks into a straight right hand from Jackson. Jackson misses the shot to the body. Jackson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. McNeil thows a body shot but no joy. Jackson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McNeil manages to avoid it. Jackson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but McNeil is out of range. Jackson misses with a wild body shot. Jackson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McNeil counters with a head kick. That will keep Jackson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! McNeil fails in his attempt to clinch. Jackson falls off balance throwing a combination
and McNeil counters with a head kick that drops Jackson - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!
Jackson is rocked! Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. McNeil decides to stand and escape the position. Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Jackson seems to have got his legs back now. McNeil fails miserably with a takedown attempt. McNeil avoids a punch combination nicely.

Jackson throws a head kick that misses and McNeil moves into the clinch. Jackson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. McNeil working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as McNeil takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Jackson tries to pull guard but McNeil won't allow it.

Mark Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A combination from Jackson does no damage. Jackson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Jackson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

A head kick by Jackson misses and McNeil counters with a nice body shot. A head kick by Jackson misses and McNeil counters with a slapping leg kick. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jackson. Jackson throws a leg kick but McNeil sees it coming and moves out of range. A head kick misses from Jackson. Jackson has a takedown stuffed. McNeil with a body punch. A glancing blow. Jackson with a nice cross. McNeil takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Jackson scores with a jab. Nice body punch from Jackson.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McNeil takes a swing at Jackson's ribcage but misses. Jackson misses the shot to the body. Jackson shoots in but no luck this time. McNeil moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McNeil swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A head kick misses from McNeil. McNeil looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. McNeil shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Jackson doesn't succeed with the takedown and McNeil counters with a flying knee. Nice. Jackson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McNeil walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Jackson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with McNeil, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes McNeil against the cage but McNeil circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Jackson will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

That's going to take a lot out of him. McNeil walks into a jab.

McNeil uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jackson has time to react. Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

It looks like Mark Jackson has been cut. Jackson scores with a nice head shot. McNeil has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. McNeil fails with a takedown attempt. Jackson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. McNeil lands a high kick to the side of Jackson's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! McNeil dives into guard, looking to finish.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McNeil sitting in guard here, content to control. McNeil slips nicely into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jackson tries to kick McNeil off but McNeil keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McNeil is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Jackson has managed to free his arm - good work. Jackson has a hand on McNeil's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. McNeil takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Jackson tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson regains half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson trying to control here.

And that's the end of the fight! Ryan McNeil comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McNeil has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
