Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
29 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Conan Jones!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Oath!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oath circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Oath tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jones's elbow.
Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Oath walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Conan Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jones darts in and clinches Oath up against the cage.

Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Oath lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Jones to his knees! Oath keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ken Oath is the new heavyweight champion!
After winning the bout, Ken Oath thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
