Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Conrad Ratliff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Wilburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brett Wilburn struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 147.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conrad Ratliff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brett Wilburn! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice jab there from Ratliff. Nice sprawl there from Wilburn as Ratliff shoots in. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ratliff is defended easily by Wilburn. Ratliff lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Ratliff tries a head kick but it misses.
Ratliff throws a sloppy head kick and Wilburn moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ratliff shoots in for a takedown but Wilburn shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Conrad Ratliff. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ratliff looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Wilburn ducks under a wild hook from Ratliff. Wilburn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ratliff. Ratliff throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilburn's waist but Wilburn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ratliff off to one side. A punch combination from Ratliff misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilburn leaves Ratliff with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ratliff throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wilburn was covering up waiting for the punch and Ratliff finishes the takedown easily into guard. Ratliff is breathing heavily. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Wilburn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Wilburn not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilburn working the head and body with strikes. Ground and pound from Wilburn. Wilburn works his way into full mount! Wilburn landing strikes from the mount. Wilburn lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Ratliff is rocked! Wilburn unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Ratliff wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Wilburn celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
