Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rockem Sockem!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
Smith not doing much here.

Sockem is defending against the submission attempts here by Smith.
Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sockem defending well though.
Smith slips a nice elbow through Sockem's hands, connecting with Sockem's forehead.

Smith stands up and beckons Sockem to join him on the feet.

Smith closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sockem quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Smith works his way into side control.

Sockem is trying to control Smith's posture but Smith avoids it.
A lull in the action here as Smith stalls from top position.
Sockem parries the strikes from Smith easily there. Smith is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sockem to escape.

Smith tries for a kimura but Sockem is defending well.

Smith is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sockem has escaped the position, nice work there.

Smith stands up.
Some wild striking there from Sockem.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sockem scores with a jab.

Smith drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith prevents Sockem from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith stands up and waves to Sockem to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt.
A shot to the liver by Sockem. Beautiful body shot.
Smith could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sockem throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sockem is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Sockem circles away and we're back to standing.
Sockem slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leroy Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smith wants to get up but he can't break Sockem's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Sockem is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Sockem moves out of range easily.
Smith loses concentration momentarily and Sockem pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Smith crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Sockem finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
