PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ade Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krabbe Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krabbe Hansen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ade Winner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Krabbe Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hansen pinned against the cage. Hansen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Krabbe Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hansen misses with a lunging right hand

and Winner counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Winner.

Hansen manages to break the clinch.
Hansen throws a series of punches but Winner avoids them all with ease.
Hansen shoots in and drives through. Winner sprawls well.
Hansen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hansen throws a sloppy head kick and Winner moves out of range easily.
Hansen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hansen sizes up Winner with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hansen swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Winner walks into a jab.
Nice takedown defense from Hansen. No joy for Winner on that attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hansen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hansen thuds a left hand into Winner's body.
Hansen lands a nice leg kick that just misses Winner's sensitive parts.
Hansen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Winner was well out of range. Poor timing from Hansen.
Hansen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Winner.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ade Winner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hansen scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and Hansen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hansen scores with a decent looking hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hansen has taken the fight to the clinch.

Hansen wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hansen with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Hansen wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hansen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Winner gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Winner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Winner wants to control from the top but Hansen keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Winner shoots in for a takedown but Hansen shows good takedown defense.
Hansen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Winner was well out of range. Poor timing from Hansen.

Hansen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hansen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hansen throws a leg kick that is checked
and Winner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Hansen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hansen lands a really nice looking cross but Winner seems unphased.
Hansen misses with a low kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Winner takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Hansen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Winner under the eye.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hansen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Winner counter with a right hand.

Hansen gets a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krabbe Hansen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Winner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Ade Winner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Winner fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hansen punishes Winner's body with a nice straight punch.

Krabbe Hansen seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Winner moves out of range as Hansen throws a body kick.

Hansen leaves Winner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Winner takes one on the button.
Winner fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hansen tries a low kick but Winner avoids it.
Hansen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hansen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hansen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hansen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Winner.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hansen lands a really nice looking cross but Winner seems unphased.
Winner is looking to clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hansen scores with a shot to the body.
Hansen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Winner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hansen tries to avoid it but Winner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hansen to the ground. Hansen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Winner ducks under a wild hook from Hansen.
Hansen connects with a right hand. Winner shakes it off.
Winner takes one to the chin there.


Winner is rocked!
Hansen connects with a combination that backs up Winner into the cage. Hansen lands a flurry of punches that gets past Winner's guard. Winner is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Hansen bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Krabbe Hansen!
