Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dudley Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dawson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lambda Lambda Lambda Song. Renato Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Dawson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nice sprawl there from Dawson as Silva shoots in.
Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Dawson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dawson throwing shots but Silva is blocking nicely.
Silva pushes Dawson off looking to stand but Dawson dives back in and keeps control.

Dawson is nestled in close to Silva, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dawson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.

Dawson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dawson uses his free foot to push down on Silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Silva.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That has opened up Renato Silva's cut even more.

Dawson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Silva is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Silva and Dawson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dawson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dawson throws a strike aimed at the side of Silva's head but Silva avoids it well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The cut above Renato Silva's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Dawson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Silva to his feet.
Silva moves forwards but Dawson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dawson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Dawson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dawson is breathing heavily.

Dawson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dawson avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva drops his hands momentarily and Dawson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Renato Silva's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
