Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bill Batson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler has chosen Yep as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bill Batson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Tyler!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batson misses with a straight right.
Batson lands a head shot.
Batson scores with a jab. Tyler acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
An inside leg kick from Batson misses.
Batson tries to work over Tyler's front leg with a kick but Tyler checks it.
Batson misses with a low kick.
Tyler slips under a jab from Batson.
Batson throws a leg kick but Tyler sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Batson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Batson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Tyler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Batson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tyler throws a jab when Batson was well out of range.
Tyler shoots in for a takedown but Batson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Tyler counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Tyler is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Batson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tyler throws an elbow that misses. Batson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tyler's guard. Nice move by Batson!
Tyler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Batson's guard.

Batson controls Tyler momentarily but Tyler frees himself.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tyler lands a couple of elbows.
Tyler working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Batson's head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Tyler had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Batson defends it easily.

Batson is looking to work some ground and pound but Tyler has wrist control.

Batson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tyler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Batson has managed to get both his arms back between Tyler's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Batson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Batson.
Batson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tyler moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Tyler wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Tyler scores with a jab. Batson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Bill Batson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tyler moves into range and connects with a jab.
Batson lands a leg kick that knocks Tyler off balance momentarily.
Tyler throws a body punch but Batson moves out of range.
Batson looks to land a right hand but Tyler moved out of range.

Tyler moves in looking to clinch but Batson pushes him off.

Batson connects with a leg kick. Tyler looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Tyler takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Batson is looking for a sweep. Tyler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tyler works his way into side control.

Batson is trying to get back to half guard.
Tyler lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Batson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Tyler is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Batson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Tyler moves into full mount!
Tyler sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Batson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Batson suckers Tyler into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Batson is now in Tyler's guard!

Batson wants to control from the top but Tyler keeps moving.

Batson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Tyler is looking for a triangle but Batson pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tyler is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Batson defends well.

Jake Tyler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Batson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Batson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tyler.
Batson throws a lazy right hand but Tyler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Batson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Batson.
Batson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Tyler catches Batson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Batson feints and then cracks Tyler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tyler down.
Tyler's jab looks to have found its range, popping Batson under the eye.
Batson throws a low kick, looking for Tyler's leg but Tyler calmly moves out of range.

Batson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tyler was well out of range. Poor timing from Batson.

Jake Tyler is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Batson tries to throw a body punch but Tyler avoids it by throwing Batson back against the cage.
Batson struggles to land a body shot inside as Tyler controls his hands.

Batson is looking to control Tyler's arms but Tyler gets an underhook and turns him. Now Batson has his back to the cage.

Tyler is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Batson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tyler or not.
Batson tries to work over Tyler's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
