PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dragoslav Stoyanovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Kessler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoyanovich comes to the cage accompanied by Hymn To Red October. Kessler has chosen Yattering - Chase of Thoughts as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dragoslav Stoyanovich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Kessler!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoyanovich has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kessler finds it's way round the side to connect with Stoyanovich's head.
Stoyanovich thows a leg kick but Kessler checks it
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kessler ducks under a wild hook from Stoyanovich.
Kessler swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kessler moves away from the strike by Stoyanovich.
Stoyanovich looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kessler bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kessler stuffs the takedown.
Stoyanovich swats away the attempt to clinch by Kessler.
Kessler connects with a solid leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kessler closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kessler lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Stoyanovich is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kessler in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kessler tries to free his leg and advance position but Stoyanovich is retaining full guard.
Kessler's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kessler landing with the ground and pound.
Stoyanovich looking for a sweep. Not yet Stoyanovich, not yet.

Kessler has gone for a leg lock! Stoyanovich slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kessler's guard.
Kessler is pulling down on Stoyanovich's head. It's preventing any offense from Stoyanovich, at least for the moment.
Kessler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kessler missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kessler is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Kessler wants to get up but he can't break Stoyanovich's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kessler trying to move into half guard but instead Stoyanovich has managed to sweep!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kessler working for a triangle but Stoyanovich defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kessler isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Stoyanovich stacks Kessler on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Stoyanovich!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kessler managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Stoyanovich.
Kessler sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Kessler trying to hold on to Stoyanovich's head to control him but Stoyanovich postures up.
Kessler wants to sweep but Stoyanovich has passed to side control!

Stoyanovich is trying to get an arm triangle but Kessler is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stoyanovich wants to control but Kessler is keeping him busy.
Kessler sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Stoyanovich is thwarting Kessler's attempts to control the position.
Stoyanovich sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kessler defending well though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stoyanovich seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kessler does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kessler has hold of Stoyanovich's hands but Stoyanovich slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kessler is doing well to control the position and prevent Stoyanovich from advancing to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Kessler dominated that round.
That's time! Stoyanovich's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Stoyanovich jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Stoyanovich tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kessler swivels and escapes.
Stoyanovich misses with the body kick
and Kessler counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Dragoslav Stoyanovich has been cut.
Nice cross by Kessler.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stoyanovich. Kessler does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stoyanovich misses with a hook. Kessler ducked under it nicely.
Kessler throws a head kick but Stoyanovich moves out of range.
Stoyanovich looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Stoyanovich fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Dragoslav Stoyanovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kessler closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Kessler is pawing at Stoyanovich, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Stoyanovich's nose. Stoyanovich is badly hurt! Kessler pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Stoyanovich tries desperately to hold on but Kessler is relentless in his assault! As Stoyanovich receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Kessler away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Kessler!
Jack Kessler decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
