Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joaquin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Joaquin throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Baptista prevents Joaquin from moving into mount.
The strikes coming from Joaquin are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Baptista managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Joaquin.
Joaquin tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joaquin working the ground and pound but Baptista is defending the strikes.
Joaquin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baptista, who protects the arm well.
Joaquin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Joaquin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Baptista is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Joaquin fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Baptista really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joaquin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Joaquin has an Americana. Baptista didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Joaquin is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Joaquin hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ryle Joaquin got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
