The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman moves into range and connects with a jab.
Beam is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A left lands for Beam.
It looks like Gordon Freeman has been cut.
Beam darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Freeman looking for submissions off his back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Freeman is trying to control but can't.

Beam is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Beam wants to free his trapped foot but Freeman is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Beam working over Freeman with some ground and pound. Freeman looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Freeman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Beam takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Beam is looking to pass Freeman's guard but actually Freeman recovers to full guard.

Beam trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Beam stands and throws Freeman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
You can see the frustration on Freeman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Beam tries to advance to mount but can't.
Freeman takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Beam takes a little break here. Freeman wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Beam works to advance to full mount. Freeman defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Beam tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Freeman is trying desperately to improve position.

Gordon Freeman's cut is getting worse.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beam wants to control the pace but Freeman is squirming around nicely.
Freeman is trying to escape the mount.

Jeez, Gordon Freeman's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gordon Freeman's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
