Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bailey tries to close the distance and clinch but McGuire swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bailey has McGuire up against the cage in a clinch.
McGuire is trying to break free.
Bailey tries to pull guard but McGuire holds him up against the cage and eventually Bailey drops back down to his feet.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for McGuire.
McGuire tries a body shot but Bailey blocks it.
McGuire misses with a hook to the ribs.
Bailey taking a breather.
Bailey fails to pull guard.
A hook to the body from McGuire.
Bailey tries to land knees in the clinch but McGuire avoids the damage to the body.
Bailey wants to take the fight to the mat but McGuire manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jo Bailey. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bailey breaks the clinch.
Bailey is looking to clinch.
Bailey fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGuire avoids it really well and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McGuire looks to score with a jab to the body but Bailey is just out of range.
Bailey shoots in for a takedown but McGuire shows good takedown defense.
Bailey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGuire pinned against the cage. McGuire gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bailey tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGuire swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bailey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGuire as he jumps to the side.
McGuire missing with a left hand there. Bailey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McGuire misses with a straight left.
No luck for Bailey with that takedown attempt.
Bailey is breathing heavily.
Bailey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGuire dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bailey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

McGuire clinches up against the cage.
Bailey blocks a body shot from McGuire.
McGuire wants to get back to striking at distance but Bailey won't allow it.
McGuire cracks Bailey with a nice body shot.
Bailey blocks a body shot from McGuire.
McGuire pressing his opponent against the cage.

McGuire breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McGuire closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bailey on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McGuire takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Ground and pound from McGuire.
McGuire is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
McGuire working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Bailey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bailey tries to get out of the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McGuire cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
McGuire breaks from Bailey's wrist control and lands an elbow.


Bailey is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McGuire connects with a bit shot that sees Bailey covering up! More strikes from McGuire and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! McGuire is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Patrick McGuire!
Patrick McGuire very nearly forgot to thank Prestige Nutrition (160!) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
