Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Jazwinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jazwinski throws a chopping leg kick but Cormier manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Cormier has Jazwinski up against the ropes in a clinch.
Cormier doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Cormier throws an elbow that misses.

Jazwinski tries a body shot but Cormier blocks it.

With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Cormier just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jazwinski's brow.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Daniel Cormier hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jazwinski shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jazwinski showed some decent athleticism there.

Jazwinski seems to be working for a kimura but Cormier defends the submission attempt.
Jazwinski is taking a breather. Cormier says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jazwinski connects with a nice short shot to Cormier's temple.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
