The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kukkonen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mason shoots in for a takedown but Kukkonen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kukkonen scores with a jab. Mason acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Mason shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kukkonen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Mason postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mason scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Kukkonen is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mason frees his head nicely. Oh but Kukkonen has switched to an armbar! Mason is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
