Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean Paul Valley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Gornev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valley comes to the cage accompanied by 2pac-Street Fame. Gornev has chosen gladiator -magnum as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jean Paul Valley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Gornev! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Valley misses. Valley rushes Gornev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Valley. Gornev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Valley walks away with a smile on his face. Gornev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gornev throws a lazy head kick and Valley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gornev won't be happy with that. Valley working the head and body with strikes. Valley lands some shots froms side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Valley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gornev is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Valley is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Gornev is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Valley working the ground and pound from side control. Valley taking a breather here. Gornev is pushing Valley's head away, looking to escape. Valley manages to hold on to the position though.

Gornev explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Gornev tries to bum rush Valley with a series of wild strikes but Valley uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Valley connects with a nice looking jab.

Valley slaps away a takedown attempt from Gornev, before circling back to the center of the mat. Gornev tries to keep at a distance but Valley has taken the fight into the clinch. Valley wants the takedown. Gornev is fighting it off but Valley persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gornev's guard against the cage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Valley chips away with some ground and pound. Gornev utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gornev is looking to stand up but Valley isn't so interested in that idea. Gornev looks winded! Valley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valley postures up and lands a big shot to Gornev's brow. Valley looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Valley prevents Gornev from getting back to his feet. Valley landing some decent shots from guard. Valley is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Valley throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gornev is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Valley is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Gornev wants to stand and escape but Valley is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valley landing with the ground and pound. Valley stays in close to Gornev's body and controls the position. Valley seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gornev for as long as he can get away with. Gornev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gornev wants to get back to his feet but Valley is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Valley stays in close to Gornev's body and controls the position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jean Paul Valley just wasn't active enough. Valley avoids the head kick by Gornev.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Gornev enables Valley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gornev manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Valley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Valley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We're going to have a standup here because Jean Paul Valley wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Gornev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Valley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Valley trying to control the pace. Valley lands with a punch from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Paul Valley dominated that round. That's time! Valley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Valley takes the fight into the clinch. Gornev wants to break the clinch but can't.

Gornev is trying to break free. Still in the clinch, Valley scores with a nice short uppercut. Gornev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Valley throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Gornev is trying to break the clinch but Valley is controlling him. Valley stalls. Valley lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gornev backwards. Gornev is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Valley works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valley won't allow Gornev to get back to his feet. Valley is in close to Gornev's body, working some short punches and elbows. Valley works a leg free and moves into half guard. Jean Paul Valley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Valley working the head and body with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Valley slips a nice elbow through Gornev's hands, connecting with Gornev's forehead. Valley passes to full mount! Valley is landing with some decent strikes but Gornev is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Valley controlling his opponent. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Valley cracks Gornev with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Valley breaks from Gornev's wrist control and lands an elbow. Valley putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Gornev is rocked! Valley lands a big shot to the head and Gornev winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
