Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yukii Ogata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez comes into the arena with Edge blaring out of the sound system. Ogata has chosen Eminem - Not Afraid as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cain Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yukii Ogata! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez slips under a jab. Velasquez fails to land with a series of punches.
Ogata doesn't succeed with the takedown and Velasquez counters with a two punch combo. Ogata moves out of range as Velasquez throws a body kick.
Ogata misses with a takedown attempt and Velasquez counters with a three punch combo that has Ogata backing up. Ogata nods at Velasquez to acknowledge the strikes. Ogata is trying hard to land a takedown here. Velasquez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Cain Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yukii Ogata. Velasquez misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ogata has his takedown stuffed and Velasquez counters with a left and a right that stings Ogata. Velasquez misses with a head kick.
Velasquez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Velasquez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Velasquez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Velasquez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Velasquez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Ogata takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Velasquez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Velasquez wants it to stay on the feet. Velasquez throws a head kick but Ogata moves out of range.

Ogata shoots in and bounces Velasquez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Velasquez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ogata controlling from the top position. Velasquez keeping moving, preventing Ogata from controlling successfully. Ogata not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Velasquez kicks Ogata off and gets to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ogata fails to land the takedown. Ogata shoots in looking for a takedown. Velasquez tries to sprawl out of it but Ogata keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Velasquez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ogata takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. This has been an exciting period of action! Velasquez throws a series of punches but Ogata moves out of range. Velasquez throws the kick towards the body but Ogata avoids it. Velasquez throws a head kick that misses. Ogata tries for a takedown but Velasquez circles away easily and Velasquez counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ogata misses with a takedown and Velasquez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Ogata looks winded! Velasquez thumps Ogata with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez scores with a three punch combo!
Velasquez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Velasquez scores with a one two! Ogata had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Ogata has his takedown stuffed and Velasquez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ogata with a lazy takedown attempt and Velasquez counters with a nice body shot. Velasquez looks for the body kick but Ogata saw that one coming. Velasquez stalks Ogata and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ogata's face. Ogata staggers backwards, shaken. Velasquez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Velasquez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Velasquez throws a sloppy head kick and Ogata moves out of range easily. Velasquez lands a head shot. Velasquez is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Ogata like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Ogata from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cain Velasquez!
