The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Misawa throws a body punch but Smith moves out of range.
Misawa shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Misawa shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.
Misawa tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hisoka Misawa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Misawa shoots in and bounces Smith off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Smith is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Misawa drops back looking for a leg! Smith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Misawa off! Misawa jumps back into Smith's guard.
Misawa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Misawa won't allow Smith to sweep him here.

Misawa is pushing down on Smith's leg trying to pass to half guard. Smith is fighting to maintain full guard but Misawa has managed to sneak the leg through.
Misawa passes to side control.
Smith is trying to get back to his feet.
Misawa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Misawa works to advance to full mount. Smith defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Misawa is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Smith is forced to tap! Great finish!
