Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sepp Maier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dutch Dream (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maier comes to the cage accompanied by Apaga mas não bate. Dutch Dream told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Sepp Maier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dutch Dream! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maier shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dream as he avoids it easily. Dream swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Maier counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dream's guard now. Maier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maier distracts Dream with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Maier postures up in Dream's guard and throws a big left but Dream blocks it. Dream avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Maier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Maier throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dream swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maier working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Maier makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Maier trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dream preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dream wants to stand but Maier is controlling the position. Maier thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dream keeping full guard, as Maier tries to pass. Maier drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dream kicks Maier off and gets to his feet. Dream throws a right and a left that Maier avoids nicely. Dream scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Maier closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Maier lands in his opponent's guard. Dream working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Maier. Maier throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dream works some decent striking defense from the bottom. This has been an exciting period of action! Maier advances to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maier sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dream defending well though. Sepp Maier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Maier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dream sees it coming and defends easily. Maier throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nice strikes from Maier there. Maier sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dream defending well though. Dream manages to escape and get back to his feet! Maier avoids the head kick by Dream.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dream using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Maier has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Dream tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Maier's elbow. Maier is trying to drag Dream to the mat but Dream just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Maier on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Maier jumps into guard, dragging Dream to the mat.
Maier looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dream puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Maier is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dream's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dream's back! Maier working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Maier lands shots from the back. Dream is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Maier off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maier tightening his grip on Dream, looking for the choke. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maier has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dream has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dream defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Maier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Maier throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Dream knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Maier is trying to ground and pound but Dream uses the momentary lack of control by Maier to regain half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Sepp Maier showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Maier, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
