Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jones Crosby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Walter Chelsea! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chelsea displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Crosby throws out the jab. Chelsea tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Crosby paws at him with a jab and circles away. Chelsea shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Crosby manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Chelsea seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Chelsea tries to free his leg and advance position but Crosby is retaining full guard. Chelsea stands up from Crosby's guard - Chelsea perhaps looking for a knockout. Nice body kick there by Crosby. Crosby shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chelsea as he avoids it easily. Crosby leaves Chelsea with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Chelsea closes the distance and clinches. Chelsea is looking for a takedown. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Crosby is looking to control Chelsea's arms but Chelsea gets an underhook and turns him. Now Crosby has his back to the cage. Crosby is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Crosby breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chelsea wants to clinch. Chelsea closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Crosby did well to prevent Chelsea getting side control. Crosby might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chelsea maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Crosby could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Chelsea has cracked it and Crosby is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Chelsea!
