Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriguez moves into the clinch.
Capalad is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rodriguez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rodriguez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Capalad is keeping busy.
Capalad keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rodriguez's efforts to push away.
Rodriguez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Capalad really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rodriguez tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Capalad is trying to break the clinch but Rodriguez is controlling him.
Rodriguez dodges an elbow strike from Capalad.
Capalad has Rodriguez pushed against the cage.

Capalad wanted to stand there but Rodriguez had control of the position.
Capalad with a flurry of punches that miss.

Capalad stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodriguez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rodriguez shoots in but no luck this time.
Capalad misses with a takedown attempt - Rodriguez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Capalad stuffs the takedown attempt from Rodriguez. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet.

Capalad throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rodriguez's head.
Rodriguez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Capalad swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rodriguez throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Rodriguez closes the distance and clinches up with Capalad, looking for a takedown. Rodriguez pushes Capalad against the cage but Capalad circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Capalad connects with a right hand. Rodriguez shakes it off.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rodriguez tries for a takedown but Capalad sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rodriguez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Capalad moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rodriguez looks winded!
Rodriguez wants to clinch
and Capalad counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Capalad dodges the punch combination from Rodriguez.
Capalad scores with a one two! Rodriguez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Capalad shoots in for a takedown but Rodriguez shows good takedown defense.
Capalad shoots for a takedown but Rodriguez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Capalad shoots in for a double leg but Rodriguez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Capalad is looking to clinch but Rodriguez is avoiding it.
Capalad shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rodriguez pinned against the cage. Rodriguez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rodriguez shoots in and gets a takedown into Capalad's guard.

Rodriguez tries to free his leg and advance position but Capalad is retaining full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Capalad is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Edmar Capalad will probably get the nod.

Rodriguez moves in looking to clinch but Capalad pushes him off.

Rodriguez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Capalad avoids it really well and circles away.

and Capalad counters by moving into the clinch.
Rodriguez is trying to drag Capalad to the mat but Capalad just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alex Rodriguez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Capalad delivers a nice body kick.

Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Capalad napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Capalad is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rodriguez asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Rodriguez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Capalad is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Capalad's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Horrible takedown by Capalad or perhaps it was just good defense by Rodriguez which made him look bad.

Alex Rodriguez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rodriguez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
