Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greggory McManus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Preston!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Preston shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Preston showed some decent athleticism there.
Preston working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Preston is nestled in close to McManus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McManus is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Preston scores with a couple of nice shots.

Preston uses his free foot to push down on McManus's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for McManus.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Preston jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McManus manages to avoid the submission attempt.

McManus wants to get back to his feet but Preston is dominant here and he's now got McManus's back!
McManus is trapped and Preston is scoring with shots to the head and body.
McManus is trying to stand back up.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Preston. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
McManus has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
McManus is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

McManus is covering up but some of the strikes from Preston are getting through and doing damage.
Preston is riding his opponent, not letting McManus buck him off.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Preston has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McManus controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Preston is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

McManus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Preston on the ground.
Preston is punishing McManus with strikes - can he finish him?!
McManus is trying to remain composed but Preston is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Preston is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. McManus knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften McManus for a finish.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Let's hope that Preston has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

McManus slaps away a takedown attempt from Preston, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McManus lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Preston closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McManus takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Preston has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of McManus's face.

McManus is bucking up trying to escape but Preston cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

A big strike lands for Preston! That's really hurt McManus and he's turned his back - Preston keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Preston jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Preston!
Matt Preston really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that KAISER logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
