Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barry Barrow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kofi Kingston! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barrow takes a kick to the side of the head. Nice body kick from Kingston. Kingston misses with a takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kingston scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Barrow pushes Kingston away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kingston gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Barrow on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barrow tries to get out of the position. Barrow throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Barrow defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kingston. Kingston throws a head kick but Barrow moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrow takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kingston has managed to clinch.

Barry Barrow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kofi Kingston. Kingston is trying to break free. Barrow wants to get back to striking at distance but Kingston won't allow it.
Kingston jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barrow walks away with a smile on his face. Kingston gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Barrow clinches. Kingston has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Barrow tries to break free but Kingston pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barrow breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barrow throws a series of punches but Kingston moves out of range. Kingston doesn't succeed with the takedown and Barrow counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kingston won't be happy with that. Kingston looks winded! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barrow controls the position. Kingston is looking for a sweep. Barrow decides to take the fight back to the feet. Kingston pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrow moves into the clinch successfully.
Barrow is trying to force a seperation but Kingston has the dominant position. Barrow wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kingston tries to break free but Barrow pushes him back against the cage. Kingston wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Barrow has him pressed against the cage. Barrow takes an elbow to the temple. Barrow manages to break the clinch.
Kingston tries to clinch up and Barrow counters by clinching up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barrow breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kingston shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Barrow counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kingston tries for a takedown but Barrow manages to get underhooks.
Kingston is trying to pull guard but Barrow turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barrow is trying to push Kingston away but Kingston has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. A frustrated look appears on Kingston's face as he tries to break the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Barry Barrow will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kingston tries to clinch but Barrow moves away and Barrow counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kingston's guard now. Barrow wants to pass the guard but Kingston is keeping the position. Barrow gets to his feet - Kingston follows without any prompting. Kingston closes the distance but Barrow moves to the side and Barrow decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kingston's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Barrow stands and steps away. Kingston gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Barrow with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kingston to score with a decent uppercut. Kofi Kingston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kingston misses with a takedown and Barrow holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kingston is breathing heavily.

It looks like Barry Barrow has been cut. Barrow wants to break free but Kingston has control.
Barrow wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Barrow is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kingston can't fight it off and eventually Barrow manages to take the fight to the floor. Kingston looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Barrow gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Barrow tries to bum rush Kingston with a series of wild strikes but Kingston uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kingston. Barry Barrow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Barrow shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Well, if Barrow is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrow is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Kingston manages to get to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barrow sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Barry Barrow just wasn't active enough. Kingston tries to clinch but Barrow moves away and Barrow counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Barrow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kingston looking for a sweep. Not yet Kingston, not yet. Barrow decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Kingston is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Barrow swings away with a body shot that misses
and Kingston counters with a head kick. That will keep Barrow thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Barrow slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Barrow decides to stand back up. Barrow steps back and let's Kingston get back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barrow misses with a body shot.
Kingston throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barrow's waist but Barrow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kingston off to one side.
