Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buys uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jenkins.
Buys lands a nice looking body kick.
Buys shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jenkins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jenkins is looking for a sweep. Buys is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Buys is keen to just control but Jenkins is a slippery customer.

Buys is trying to control the action in half guard but Jenkins is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Buys looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Jenkins tries to bum rush Buys with a series of wild strikes but Buys uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Thurgood Jenkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jenkins lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jenkins looking for a guillotine from mount but Buys is having none of it.

Jenkins might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Buys kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Buys suckers Jenkins into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Buys is now in Jenkins's guard!

Buys tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jenkins just stands there and leans against the cage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Buys holds on and takes a little breather.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jenkins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Buys manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jenkins has Buys in his guard.
