Katorjnov comes to the cage accompanied by Remember the name - Fort Minor. Nickolay Katorjnov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nickolay Katorjnov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Groyce Racie! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Racie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Katorjnov wants to stand up but Racie is controlling him. Racie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Katorjnov is keeping the position for now. Racie forces his way into half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Racie looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Katorjnov is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Katorjnov tries to roll over but Racie keeps him under control. Katorjnov is pressing down on Racie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Racie won't allow Katorjnov to sweep him here. Katorjnov wants to get back to his feet but Racie is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Racie trying to control the position from guard on top but Katorjnov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Katorjnov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Katorjnov throws an overhand right that lands on Racie's shoulder, as Racie tries to avoid the shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Katorjnov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Racie checks a low kick from Katorjnov. Racie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Katorjnov is trying to stand.
Katorjnov is looking to improve his position.
Katorjnov is defending against the submission attempts here by Racie.
Racie is pressing down on Katorjnov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Katorjnov is holding on for now. Racie not doing much here.
Katorjnov is trying to stand up here but Racie is controlling him well. Racie trying to pass the guard but Katorjnov defending well. Katorjnov is defending against the submission attempts here by Racie.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Racie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Racie prevents Katorjnov from standing back up.
Racie wants to take a breather but Katorjnov is having none of it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Oooh a lovely combination from Katorjnov sends Racie down but not out. Katorjnov dives into side control looking to finish.
Racie is rocked! Racie tries to buck Katorjnov off but Katorjnov is having none of it. Racie is still in real trouble! Can Katorjnov finish him? Racie looks gassed! Katorjnov fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Katorjnov moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Katorjnov is looking to take a break and control but Racie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Racie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Katorjnov decides to stand back up. Katorjnov steps back and let's Racie get back to his feet. Racie seems to have recovered his senses. Katorjnov throws a push kick but Racie slaps the foot to one side. It's a brutal combination of punches from Katorjnov! Racie is backing up but he can't get away as Katorjnov lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Racie and ends the fight. Great knockout.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Nickolay Katorjnov! Nickolay Katorjnov retains his welterweight title!
