25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorge Riviera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Jackson! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jorge Riviera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Riviera rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
so Jackson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Jackson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jackson controls from within his opponent's guard. Jackson throws a big right hand that misses. Jackson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jackson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Riviera avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Riviera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Riviera has wrist control. Jackson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jackson forces his way into half guard. Jackson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Riviera knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Jackson controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Riviera is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jackson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Riviera defending well though. Riviera holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Riviera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jackson lands a jab. Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Jackson working the strikes but Riviera uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Riviera is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jackson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jackson's back! Riviera wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy. Riviera landing with strikes. Jackson wants to control his opponent's hands but Riviera gets his hands free.
That's one minute gone in the round. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Jackson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Riviera seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jackson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We're going to have a standup here because Jorge Riviera wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Riviera throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Riviera slaps away a takedown attempt from Jackson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jackson looks to land a combination. Riviera sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Jackson fails with a takedown attempt. Riviera misses with a right hand and Jackson counters with a nice uppercut. A clash of legs there as Jackson blocks the low kick. Riviera swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jackson scores with a takedown into Riviera's guard. Jackson forces his way into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Riviera is trying to get back to full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Riviera keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jackson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Riviera tries to get to full guard but Jackson has control of the leg. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Riviera with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Jackson is keen to just control but Riviera is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Jackson slips under a jab from Riviera. Jackson looking to score a takedown here. Riviera is defending well but Jackson drives through and ends up in Riviera's guard. Jackson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riviera swivels though and keeps the full guard. John Jackson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A shot to the liver by Jackson. Beautiful body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson staying out of range there. Jorge Riviera has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jackson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Riviera tests Jackson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Riviera looks to land a left hand but Jackson moved out of range nicely. Riviera showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jackson is defended easily by Riviera. Riviera fails in his attempt to clinch. Riviera is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson cracks a nice hook into Riviera's ribs. Jackson punishes Riviera's body with a nice straight punch. Riviera throws a hook to the side of Jackson's head but Jackson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jackson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Riviera. Jackson needs to keep his hands up - Riviera had a free shot at his head there. A punch lands to the side of Riviera 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jackson scores with a nice strike. Jackson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Riviera moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Jackson thuds his right hand into Riviera's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson lands with a straight right. Riviera didn't see that one coming. Jackson lands a nice shot that snaps Riviera's head back.

And that's the end of the fight! John Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
