Grapist has chosen Know Your Enemy by Rage Against the Machine as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ares Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerry Grapist!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Grapist napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grapist looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sanchez tries to advance to mount but can't.
You can see the frustration on Grapist's face as Sanchez controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ares Sanchez wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Grapist shoots in but no luck this time.
Sanchez moves in looking to clinch but Grapist pushes him off.
Sanchez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Sanchez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sanchez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Sanchez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Grapist for as long as he can get away with.

Sanchez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez wants to free his trapped foot but Grapist is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Sanchez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Grapist can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sanchez is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Grapist to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Grapist shrugs it off.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Grapist enables Sanchez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Grapist manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
