Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Slaughter Rico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malvin Maldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maldi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Loituma TECHNO!. Slaughter Rico has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rico misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rico is looking to clinch but Maldi is avoiding it.

Maldi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rico tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maldi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Maldi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rico keeps working.

Maldi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maldi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rico pushes Maldi away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maldi gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Rico wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Rico is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Maldi has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Rico tries to buck Maldi off but Maldi is having none of it.
Rico wants to get back to his feet.

Maldi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rico, who protects the arm well.
Rico is looking for a sweep.
Maldi misses with the ground and pound.
Rico tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rico is trying to get back to his feet.
Maldi is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rico will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Maldi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rico has escaped the position, nice work there.

Rico is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Maldi off and has taken his back!

Rico working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rico is controlling the position but Maldi somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Maldi is looking for a sweep. Rico is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rico knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maldi on the ground.

Maldi looking for submissions off his back.
Rico is stalling here. Maldi is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rico seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Maldi has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
