Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davi Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes to the cage accompanied by Tragically Hip- Thugs. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Stevie Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Davi Alves!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves with a hook.
Davi Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alves misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Walker counters with a nice body shot.
Alves throws a low kick but Walker avoids it.
Walker connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Alves misses with a series of wild punches.
Alves fails to land the takedown.
Walker throws a nice inside leg kick.

Walker clinches up with Alves and pushes him back against the cage.
Alves misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Alves misses with a short punch on the inside.
Walker missing with knees to the body.
Alves tries to work over Walker's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Walker tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Alves avoids it.
A right handed body shot lands from Walker.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alves wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Walker has him pressed against the cage.
Alves misses with some punches.

A short body shot lands from Walker as the two fighters clinch.
Good body shot from Alves.

Alves escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Walker throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Alves connects with a leg kick. Walker looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Walker takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A looping hook to the body misses from Alves. Walker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Alves scoring well with a low kick there.
Alves closes the distance and clinches up with Walker, looking for a takedown. Alves pushes Walker against the cage but Walker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Walker throws a big shot that misses.
Alves tries to land a front kick but Walker steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Walker cracks a nice hook into Alves's ribs.
Walker swings for the body but Alves moves out of range.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Alves. Walker shrugs it off though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alves throws a sloppy head kick and Walker moves out of range easily.
Alves misses with a wild body shot.
A slow jab from Alves misses its intended target.
Walker throws a chopping leg kick but Alves manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alves jabs at Walker's body.
Walker connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Alves throws a head kick but Walker moves out of range.
Walker checks the leg kick nicely there.
Walker swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Walker misses with a straight left.
Alves does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Alves throws a jab when Walker was well out of range.
Alves throws a body punch but Walker moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circling - Alves throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Alves looks to score with a jab to the body but Walker is just out of range.
Alves fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Walker throws a head kick but Alves moves out of range.
Alves misses with the body kick
and Walker counters with a nice low kick that buckles Alves's knee momentarily.
Walker moves out of range of the leg kick from Alves.
Alves doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Walker counters with an inside leg kick.
Stevie Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Davi Alves.
Alves on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Nice takedown defense from Walker. No joy for Alves on that attempt.
Stevie Walker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alves lands a nice leg kick that just misses Walker's sensitive parts.
Walker takes a swing at Alves's ribcage but misses.
Alves scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Walker fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alves has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Walker is looking to score with low kicks.
Walker tries to close the distance and clinch but Alves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
No joy there for Walker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Walker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Walker is looking to wear down Alves with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walker misses with a leg kick
and Alves counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Alves looks to score with a jab to the body but Walker is just out of range.
Walker scoring well with a low kick there.
Alves throws a hook but Walker blocks it.
Jab, jab by Alves - just one landing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alves thuds a left hand into Walker's body.
Alves misses with a low kick.
Walker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stevie Walker will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Alves fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Alves misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Walker.
Alves throws a head kick that half lands.
Walker fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Alves is out of range.
Walker moves out of range of the strikes.
A slapping leg kick lands for Walker.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Alves can't find room to land a body shot as Walker controls the action.
Walker pushes Alves back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Alves blocks a body shot from Walker.
Walker stops a takedown attempt from Alves.
Alves is working for takedown but Walker is calmly controlling the position for now.
Stevie Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Davi Alves.
Alves takes a shot to the head.
Alves wants to get back to striking at distance but Walker won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alves breaks from the clinch.
Alves tests Walker's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A bone on bone clash there as Alves blocks the leg kick.
Alves scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alves.
Walker wants to clinch up but Alves keeps it at a distance.

Alves drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Alves throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Walker manages to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alves is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Walker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alves tries to reverse the position but Walker maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker tries to control but Alves wriggling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alves is desperately trying to improve his position but Walker has a good base and remains in mount.
Walker lands a big elbow.
Alves is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alves is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Walker controlling from mount.
Walker landing punches.
Walker controlling his opponent.
Alves keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Walker controlling the pace for now.
Alves sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alves is trying to get back to full guard.
Walker controlling the pace.
Walker is trying to control. Alves wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alves is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We're going to have a standup here because Stevie Walker wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Alves throws a hook to the side of Walker's head but Walker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stevie Walker will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Alves uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Walker.
Walker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Alves digs a good hook to Walker's body.
Alves throws a body punch but Walker moves out of range.
Alves throws a low kick but Walker moves out of range easily.
Alves with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Walker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alves.

Alves throws a lazy body kick
and Walker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Walker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stevie Walker is winning the standup battle so far.
Walker takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Alves throws an off balance right hand
and Alves takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


Alves is rocked!
Alves misses with an uppercut
and Walker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Alves is still on wobbly legs! Can Walker finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Walker throws a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker flashes Alves a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Alves's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Alves crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Walker punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Stevie Walker!
A very excited looking Stevie Walker made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
