Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henzo Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luca Marx! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Marx did well to prevent Diaz getting side control. Marx flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Diaz drops an elbow to the side of Marx's head. Diaz is looking for a kimura here.
Marx pushes Diaz off looking to stand but Diaz dives back in and keeps control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Diaz throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Diaz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Marx is looking to escape. Diaz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Diaz trying to control but Marx is having none of it. Diaz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Marx looks a forlorn figure.
Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Marx wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Diaz goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Marx turns into him and now he's in Diaz's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marx content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marx distracts Diaz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Marx is doing well to control the position and prevent Diaz from advancing to side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marx wants to get back to his feet.
Diaz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Marx has his hands clasped together around Diaz's back. He's all about the action. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Marx is staying active underneath Diaz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Henzo Diaz just wasn't active enough. Marx has a takedown stuffed. Henzo Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luca Marx. Marx shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Diaz counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Marx's guard now. Marx is breathing heavily. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice takedown defense from Diaz. No joy for Marx on that attempt. Marx misses with a takedown and Diaz counters with a single leg into guard. Marx didn't expect that.
And that's the end of the fight! Henzo Diaz showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diaz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
