The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nilsson tries for a takedown but Slapov circles away easily
and Slapov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nilsson won't be happy with that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Slapov gets to mount! Nilsson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Igor Slapov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Nilsson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nilsson shoots in but no luck this time.
Nilsson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slapov's waist but Slapov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nilsson off to one side.
