Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bittor Xavier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Upton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xavier's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Jane's Addiction- Mountain Song. Upton comes into a darkened arena with his song building. DL Incognito - Proof kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xavier avoids the head kick by Upton.
Upton misses with a looping left.
Xavier catches Upton with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A left and a right from Xavier both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Luke Upton has been cut.
Upton throws the left hand but Xavier avoids the punch easily.
Xavier shoots in looking for a takedown but Upton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Xavier's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Upton misses with an uppercut.
Luke Upton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Upton misses the shot to the body.
Upton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Upton walks into a jab.
Upton misses with an uppercut. Xavier saw that one coming.

Upton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Xavier counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Xavier takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Upton throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Xavier's head.
Upton takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Xavier counters with a right hand to the body.

Xavier changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Upton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Xavier is looking to take a break and control but Upton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Upton regains half guard.
Upton moves into full guard.
Xavier wants to pass the guard but Upton is keeping the position.

Xavier lands a couple of digs.
Xavier keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Upton's head.

Upton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Xavier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Upton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Xavier can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Xavier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Upton throws his legs up looking for a submission but Xavier uses it to pass to side control.
Upton is looking to regain half guard here but Xavier keeps moving and retains side control.
Xavier scores with a couple of short elbows.

Xavier lands a strong strike to the head of Upton. That's dazed him! Xavier looking to finish here. Upton is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Xavier lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
