Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sho Shinjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinjo has chosen Theme of Sho as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sho Shinjo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee misses with an uppercut. Shinjo saw that one coming. Shinjo listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Shinjo tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range. Lee takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lee throws a shot from downtown. Shinjo moves away and avoids it. Lee takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shinjo manages to avoid it. The fighters circling - Lee throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Shinjo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Lee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shinjo.
Shinjo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lee's hands. A telegraphed right hand from Lee misses the target. Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shinjo manages to avoid it. Lee is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shinjo. Lee shoots in and gets a takedown into Shinjo's guard. Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shinjo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shinjo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lee is one step ahead there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lee working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shinjo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lee is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Shinjo trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lee has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Shinjo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lee. Lee is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee sneaks back into half guard. Shinjo scoring with strikes to the body and head. Shinjo is trying to work for a kimura but Lee is defending well.
Lee looking for submissions off his back. Lee gets full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shinjo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lee is looking to stand up but Shinjo isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shinjo tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard. Shinjo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Shinjo trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shinjo won't allow Lee to sweep him here. Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lee looking for a guillotine here but Shinjo defends easily.

Shinjo wants to free his trapped foot but Lee is holding on for dear life with his legs. Shinjo slips a nice elbow through Lee's hands, connecting with Lee's forehead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shinjo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Shinjo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Lee slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shinjo trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shinjo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shinjo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lee tries to land a sweep but no joy. Shinjo tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard. Lee is looking to stand up but Shinjo isn't so interested in that idea. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shinjo postures up.

That was a close round but I would say that Eric Lee will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shinjo is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Shinjo circles away and we're back to standing. Lee walks into a left hand. Shinjo jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Shinjo throws a big shot that misses. Shinjo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lee. A slow jab from Shinjo misses its intended target. Shinjo looks for a takedown but Lee sprawls well. Lee takes a swing at Shinjo's ribcage but misses. Shinjo connects with a looping right hand.
Nice jab there from Lee. Shinjo lands a jab to the nose. Lee manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shinjo on his heels. He'll look to pass Shinjo's guard now, I'm sure. Shinjo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Eric Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shinjo keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shinjo controls Lee momentarily but Lee frees himself.
Eric Lee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Lee goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Lee throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shinjo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A momentary lapse in concentration from Lee enables Shinjo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lee manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Lee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Shinjo's corner is telling him to maintain position. Lee wants to sweep but no luck. Shinjo with a nice head shot there. Shinjo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lee's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee is not content to let Shinjo control the position. Shinjo prevents Lee from improving his position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shinjo seems to be looking for submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Shinjo has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Lee working to try and regain half guard.
Lee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Lee is looking to improve his position but Shinjo isn't that keen on the idea. Lee gets back to half guard. Shinjo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lee! Shinjo looking to control but Lee is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Shinjo lands a big shot there that rocks Lee but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee tries to hold on but Shinjo pushes him away. Lee tries to get back to half guard but can't. Shinjo with good strikes from the mount here! Shinjo lands a big elbow. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shinjo lands a big elbow. Lee wants to control but Shinjo is having none of it. Shinjo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Lee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Shinjo scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lee?

Shinjo won't let Lee get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Lee working to try and regain half guard.

Sho Shinjo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Shinjo counters with a slapping leg kick. Lee cracks a nice hook into Shinjo's ribs. Shinjo misses with a body shot.
Lee shoots in for a takedown but Shinjo shows good takedown defense. Lee misses with an uppercut. Lee takes a body punch but keeps moving. Eric Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shinjo throws a shot to the body.
Shinjo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lee avoids a kick to the body.

Shinjo jabbing away but nothing is landing. Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A jab from Lee finds it's way through Shinjo's defenses. Lee throws a hook but Shinjo blocks it. Lee lands a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shinjo ducks under a wild hook from Lee. Shinjo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shinjo is defended easily by Lee. Good leg kick by Shinjo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Shinjo lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lee at a distance.
Shinjo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shinjo blocks a jab. Lee swings away with a leg kick that misses. Lee fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lee throws a jab but it's blocked by Shinjo. A jab from Lee misses. Shinjo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lee's guard. Shinjo with a nice head shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinjo wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving. Shinjo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shinjo trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom. Lee is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Shinjo wants to take a breather but Lee is having none of it. Lee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lee taking some punishment here, with Shinjo in his half guard. Lee moves into full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lee has his foot on Shinjo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shinjo works his way back into a safe position though. Shinjo cracks Lee with a solid left hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lee is looking for a triangle but Shinjo pushes his legs off easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Sho Shinjo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Shinjo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Sho Shinjo! Sho Shinjo decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
