The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rikidozan lands a glancing blow to the side of Moreira's head.
Rikidozan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Moreira.

Moreira buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A jab from Rikidozan finds it's way through Moreira's defenses.

Moreira digs a right hand into Rikidozan's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rikidozan's gas tank.

Rikidozan tries to break free but Moreira pushes him back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Moreira lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rikidozan backwards.

Rikidozan tries to circle away but Moreira has him pinned against the cage.
Moreira misses with a body punch.
Moreira putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Rikidozan in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Moreira throws a leg kick which misses Rikidozan's front leg but catches the back leg as Rikidozan tries to avoid it.
Moreira lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rikidozan throws a hook to the side of Moreira's head but Moreira sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Moreira catches Rikidozan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Rikidozan cracks the inside of Moreira's front leg.
Rikidozan tries to clinch there but Moreira circles away.
Moreira lands a jab to the head.
Moreira pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Moreira thows a body kick. Rikidozan tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Rikidozan gets tackled into the cage by Moreira. Moreira maintains the clinch.
Rikidozan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Moreira throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
A bone on bone clash there as Rikidozan blocks the leg kick.
Rikidozan throws a looping overhand right but Moreira ducks down to avoid it.
A left lands for Rikidozan.

Moreira is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rikidozan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Rikidozan misses the shot to the body.
Moreira misses with a body kick.
Rikidozan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Moreira connects with a nice looking jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Moreira scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Moreira lands a right hook to the body.
Moreira looks to land a left hand but Rikidozan moved out of range nicely.

Moreira swats away the attempt to clinch by Rikidozan.

Rikidozan lands a really nice looking cross but Moreira seems unphased.

Moreira feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rikidozans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Moreira tries to clinch there but Rikidozan circles away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Moreira connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The crowd cheers as Moreira lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rikidozan doesn't seem phased though.

Rikidozan glances at the clock... BAM! Moreira nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Rikidozan crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Rikidozan is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Daniel Vieira Moreira decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
