Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 2, fighting out of New York, Nando Rafael!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terry Tate!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rafael as he jumps to the side.
Tate shoots for a takedown but Rafael saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tate throws a good cross that connects.

Rafael has managed to clinch.
Rafael is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Rafael tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tate's elbow.

Tate tightens his grip and picks Rafael up, before dumping him to the ground. Rafael manages to land in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rafael is adopting a defensive guard.
Tate throwing strikes but missing.
Tate being controlled here momentarily.

Rafael is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tate creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rafael sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Tate looks up at the clock and then as Rafael takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tate smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Tate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rafael keeps working.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tate moves into full mount!

Rafael somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Rafael is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Tate throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rafael's waist but Rafael gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tate off to one side.
Tate tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rafael swivels and escapes.
Rafael stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Nando Rafael is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Tate shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rafael defends it nicely.
Nando Rafael has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Tate.

Rafael drives through and clinches with Tate against the cage.
Tate drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rafael gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rafael gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Tate.
Rafael misses with the head strike.
Rafael lands a nice uppercut.
Rafael prevents a body shot from Tate.
Rafael lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Tate backwards.

Rafael makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Tate is breathing heavily.

Tate tries to score a body lock takedown but Rafael shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rafael tries to work over Tate's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Rafael is leaning against Tate and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Tate is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rafael is defending well.
Tate takes a shot to the head.
Rafael digs a right hand underneath Tate's ribcage. Tate let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Tate goes for a takedown attempt but Rafael pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rafael lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tate backs up against the cage.


Tate is rocked!


It looks like Terry Tate has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rafael lunges at Tate with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tate's hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nando Rafael dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Terry Tate's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Tate keeps the fight on the outside.
Tate is still on wobbly legs! Can Rafael finish him?

Tate shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rafael but Rafael pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Rafael tries to clinch up but Tate circles away and keeps his distance.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Rafael! Tate is out on his feet! Rafael rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Tate is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Tate is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nando Rafael!
