Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clay Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clay Barnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankie Edgar! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnett thuds his shin into the meat of Edgar's side. Barnett tries to clinch up but Edgar circles away and keeps his distance. Edgar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barnett moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Barnett scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Barnett wants to control but Edgar is keeping him busy. Edgar sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Barnett wants to free his trapped foot but Edgar is holding on for dear life with his legs. Edgar is trying to get back to full guard. Barnett missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Barnett looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Barnett throwing shots but Edgar is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edgar is staying active underneath Barnett, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Edgar wants to get back to full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Edgar defending well as Barnett loads up on a big left hand. Barnett shoots in for a double leg but Edgar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Edgar gets caught flat footed, as Barnett shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Edgar wants to sweep but no luck. Edgar throws his legs up looking for a submission but Barnett uses it to pass to side control.
Barnett trying to control the action but Edgar is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barnett is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Edgar knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Barnett is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edgar tries to buck Barnett off but Barnett is having none of it. Edgar is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Barnett off and has taken his back! Barnett preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Edgar. Barnett trying to control the action but Edgar just sinks the hooks in. Barnett tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Barnett trying desperately to get to his feet.
Edgar is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Barnett is surviving well by controlling Edgar's body position as best he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar has control of Barnett's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Barnett regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Barnett tries to lock up and control but Edgar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Barnett is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Edgar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Edgar working for a submission but Barnett is keeping him at bay. Barnett is trying desperately to improve position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Edgar wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Edgar has hold of Barnett's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Barnett manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Barnett is in all sorts of trouble here.
Edgar working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Barnett tries to lock up and control but Edgar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Edgar wants to take Barnett's back but he can't do it this time. Edgar is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Barnett has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Barnett! Barnett thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Edgar working for a triangle but Barnett defends it easily.

Barnett looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Edgar! Edgar is wriggling around trying to escape.

It looks like Frankie Edgar has been cut. Edgar tries to reverse the position but Barnett maintains control. Barnett looking for a guillotine from mount but Edgar is having none of it. That's one minute gone in the round. Barnett wants to finish this one by submission but Edgar is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Barnett. Edgar sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Barnett trying to control the action but Edgar is working from the bottom. Barnett tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Edgar slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Edgar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barnett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Edgar looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edgar can't keep his opponent in guard - Barnett advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Barnett trying to control the pace. Barnett is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Edgar is trying to get back to full guard. Edgar is not content to let Barnett control the position. Barnett passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Edgar! Edgar gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Barnett pulls his head out easily. Barnett is trying to control the action in half guard but Edgar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Barnett decides to return to a standing position. Barnett misses with a combination
and Edgar makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Barnett bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Barnett throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Barnett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Edgar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Barnett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barnett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Barnett moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Clay Barnett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edgar is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Barnett grinds an elbow into Edgar's temple. Edgar is not content to let Barnett control the position. Barnett tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Edgar is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Barnett's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barnett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Barnett pushes down on Edgar's leg and manages to get into half guard. Barnett missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Edgar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Barnett's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Barnett's back! Barnett preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Edgar. Edgar is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Barnett is tapping out! This one is all over!
