Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vanapa Animai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murray comes into a darkened arena with his song building. KO muzik kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vanapa Animai! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Murray! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murray scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Murray throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Animai on the side of the head. Murray bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Animai's head. Nice defenses there by Animai. Murray stuffs the takedown. Murray looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Vanapa Animai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Animai shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Animai is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Murray is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Animai is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Murray sees it coming and defends easily. Murray is looking for a sweep. Animai is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Murray is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Animai wants to work for an arm triangle but Murray is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Animai is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Murray keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Murray is looking for a sweep. Animai is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Murray wants to control but Animai is keeping busy.
Animai is looking for a kimura but Murray is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Animai to get the leverage. Animai is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Murray to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Animai wants to get up but he can't break Murray's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murray tries to land a sweep but no joy. Animai has gone for a leg lock! Murray slips out almost immediately though and dives into Animai's guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Animai keeping moving, preventing Murray from controlling successfully. Animai looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Murray decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. The fighters circle momentarily. Murray darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Vanapa Animai has been cut. Animai misses with a takedown attempt - Murray sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Animai is breathing heavily. Animai on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Animai takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Animai fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vanapa Animai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Murray cracks Animai with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Animai looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Murray finish him?
Animai is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Animai walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Murray! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lee Murray! Lee Murray retains his light heavyweight title! An out of breath Lee Murray thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
