Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vasilij Zajtsev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bogey James!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Zajtsev counters with a three punch combo that has James backing up. James nods at Zajtsev to acknowledge the strikes.

James scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Zajtsev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

James looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zajtsev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Zajtsev makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Zajtsev.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

James stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Zajtsev has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! James manages to get his head free but now Zajtsev has transitioned to an armbar! James grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Zajtsev! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Vasilij Zajtsev!
During a confident post fight interview, Vasilij Zajtsev thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
