Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rodniel Romero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Jesus! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jesus is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Romero. Jesus throws a hook but Romero avoids it easily. A combination from Romero does no damage. Jesus rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Romero makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Romero lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Jose Jesus has been cut. Romero looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jesus misses with a hook. Romero ducked under it nicely. Jesus gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A combination from Romero does no damage. Jesus avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Jesus misses with a hook
enabling Romero to counter with a crisp jab. Romero moves away from the strike by Jesus. Romero lands a leg kick that knocks Jesus off balance momentarily. Romero throws a low kick but it's checked well by Jesus. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A big right from Jesus misses. Jesus misses with an uppercut
and Romero counters with a thumping low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jesus misses with a straight left. Jesus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Romero was well out of range. Poor timing from Jesus. Jesus throws a series of punches but Romero avoids them all with ease. Jesus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jesus doesn't succeed with the takedown and Romero counters with an outside leg kick.
Jesus is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Romero uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jesus.
Romero lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jesus throws a series of punches but Romero moves out of range. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jesus. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Jesus working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jesus wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Romero, who protects the arm well. Romero wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Jesus goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Romero rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jesus's guard! Nice work there by Romero!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jesus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Romero is aware though and is defending well. Jesus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jesus looking for a guillotine here but Romero defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jesus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Romero defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jesus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jesus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Romero is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Romero tries to stand but Jesus is controlling from the bottom. Jesus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jesus looking for a guillotine here but Romero defends easily.

Jose Jesus dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jose Jesus's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jesus looks to land a left hand but Romero moved out of range nicely. Jesus misses the body punch and Romero counters with a series of strikes. Jesus will be more careful next time no doubt. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jesus is defended easily by Romero. Romero defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jesus. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jesus. Rodniel Romero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Jesus. Romero scores with a leg kick.
Jesus fails with a takedown attempt. Jesus misses with a right hand and Romero counters with a stiff right hand.

Jesus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Romero's waist but Romero gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jesus off to one side. Jesus swings widly with a right hand
and Romero counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Jesus is lucky that one didn't land flush. Jesus takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jesus swings away with a body shot that misses
enabling Romero to counter with a crisp jab. Rodniel Romero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jesus takes one to the side of the head.
Jesus shoots in and bounces Romero off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jesus looking to sit in guard and control but Romero gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jesus working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Romero has passed into half guard!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romero prevents Jesus from improving his position. Jesus looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jesus looking for a kimura from the bottom but Romero passes into side control! Romero wants to stand but Jesus is controlling his arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jesus throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Jesus is trying to get back to half guard. Jesus sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Romero blocks the strikes from Jesus.
Jesus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Romero pulls his head out easily. Jesus trying to hold on to Romero's head to control him but Romero postures up.
Romero wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jesus tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Jesus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Romero pulls his head out easily. Jesus actively working from the bottom here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jesus looking for submissions from an awkward position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Rodniel Romero will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jose Jesus's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Romero looks to land a combination but Jesus avoids it well. Jesus is looking to clinch. Romero ducks under a wild hook from Jesus. Romero throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jesus. Jesus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Romero as he jumps to the side. Romero keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jesus.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Romero steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jesus. Jesus misses with a lunging right hand
and Jesus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Romero lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jesus backs up against the cage.
Jesus is looking to clinch. Jesus loads up on a big right hand but Romero slips the punch. Romero lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Romero. Jesus looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jesus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jesus trying to control but Romero is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jesus trying to move into half guard but instead Romero has managed to sweep! Jesus will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Romero got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jesus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Romero has managed to get both his arms back between Jesus's legs - danger averted. Jesus not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jesus striking off his back but it's not causing Romero any problems. Jesus throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Romero escapes and throws Jesus's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Jesus to pass into mount. Romero is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Romero avoids the attempt from Jesus to control. Jesus is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romero is looking to stand but Romero has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Jesus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Jesus regains half guard. Jesus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jesus looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jose Jesus. I think Jesus has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
